Iloilo: Ilonggos, particularly parents and their children, are being urged to participate in the Philippine Identification System (PhilSys) registration as the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) has recommenced its mobile and mall registration services.

According to Philippines News Agency, PSA focal person for the PhilSys in Western Visayas, Jared Barile, emphasized the importance of bringing children to registration centers, highlighting the convenience of locations across the region. In Iloilo, registration is available at SM City Iloilo every day from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., Robinsons from Monday to Saturday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Gaisano in Balasan town from Sunday to Friday between 8:30 a.m. and 5:30 p.m.

In Negros Occidental and Bacolod, residents can register at Ayala Malls Capitol Central, SM City Bacolod, Robinsons Mall along Lacson Street, and Gaisano Grand City Central. Additional locations include City Mall Cadiz, Gaisano Grand Mall in Silay, and Victorias City Mall in Victorias. Registration is also available in Capiz at Robinsons Place and at fixed registration centers in PSA offices across the region.

Barile noted that these sites accommodate registrants of all ages, offering demographic updates at the fixed centers. The PSA aims to enroll 52,155 individuals in Western Visayas during the first quarter of 2025. As of January 20, approximately 6.9 million residents have registered, with 4.35 million receiving their PVC cards.

Efforts are underway to facilitate the registration of children below one year old by coordinating with hospitals to establish registration centers. In Aklan, 544,000 residents have registered; in Antique, 539,000; in Capiz, 680,000; in Guimaras, 159,000; in Iloilo, 2.2 million; and in Negros Occidental, 2.7 million.
