Butuan: Police stations under the Butuan City Police Office (BCPO), along with its mobile force company, received new Information and Communications Technology (ICT) equipment during a turnover ceremony on Monday, aimed at enhancing operational efficiency and improving police communication.
According to Philippines News Agency, Col. Restituto Lacano, the officer-in-charge of the BCPO, oversaw the distribution of ICT equipment to Stations 1 through 6 and the Butuan City Mobile Force Company. 'The ICT equipment is seen to improve digital reporting, data management, and communication efficiency of the city police force,' Lacano said in a statement.
The released ICT equipment includes desktop computers and accessories. The stations also received 5.56mm 'MERTSAV' light machine guns to bolster their operational readiness and tactical response. Both ICT equipment and firearms were procured under the Philippine National Police Modernization Program.
'This initiative ensures that our police stations and mobile force units have the tools needed to perform their duties efficiently, both on the ground and in administrative operations,' Lacano said.
