MANILA: The Government Service Insurance System (GSIS) has announced a PHP1.5 million raffle to be held on December 17, aimed at thanking its members and pensioners while promoting the use of its mobile application, GSIS Touch. The raffle will reward 300 winners with PHP5,000 each, encouraging users to engage with the app for more efficient services.

According to Philippines News Agency, GSIS president and general manager Wick Veloso highlighted the dual purpose of the “GSIS Touch and Win Raffle” as both a gesture of appreciation and a strategy to increase app usage. The initiative provides members and pensioners with automatic raffle entries upon downloading and registering for the GSIS Touch app, with opportunities to earn additional entries through various transactions conducted via the app.

Veloso emphasized that the app offers members faster and more convenient access to GSIS services. Active members can earn extra entries for loans such as the Multipurpose Loan, MPL Lite, or Emergency Loan approved th
rough the app starting January 2024. However, members with loans overdue by more than six months will not be eligible.

For pensioners, the app facilitates extra entries for activities like using facial recognition for the Annual Pensioners Information Revalidation (APIR) or applying for the Enhanced Pension Loan or Pensioners Emergency Loan.

The raffle will employ an audited electronic system for drawing winners, who will be contacted through their registered mobile numbers or emails. Prizes will be directly credited to winners’ GSIS eCards.

Since its launch in 2020, the GSIS Touch app has amassed over 1.5 million users, offering functionalities such as membership record access, loan applications, claims tracking, and advanced security features.
