KUALA LUMPUR, The gold futures contract on Bursa Malaysia Derivatives ended lower today after the release of US consumer price index (CPI) data on Wednesday.
The September 2024 contract eased to US$2,523.10 per troy ounce from US$2,531.70 yesterday.
The October 2024, November 2024, December 2024, February 2025 and April 2025 contracts all settled lower at US$2,535.40 per troy ounce compared to US$2,544.00.
Volume increased to 22 lots from 14 lots on Wednesday, while open interest improved to 82 contracts from 68 contracts.
The price of physical gold stood at US$2,507.75 per troy ounce, according to the London Bullion Market Association’s afternoon fix on September 11.
