Free MRT-3 and LRT-2 Rides for Government Workers on Philippine Civil Service Anniversary

Manila: Government employees will get free rides on the Metro Rail Transit Line 3 (MRT-3) and Light Rail Transit Line 2 (LRT-2) on Wednesday to celebrate the 126th Philippine Civil Service Anniversary. In separate announcements, the Department of Transportation - Metro Rail Transit Line 3 (DOTr-MRT-3) and the Light Rail Transit Authority (LRTA) said free rides will be available all day for government workers who present a valid company or agency ID.

According to Philippines News Agency, the MRT-3 will also offer free rides to National ID holders on Thursday, from 7 a.m. to 9 a.m. and from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., in line with Global Identity Day. To avail of the September 17 free ride, passengers may present any of the following: a physical National ID, digital National ID, or ePhilID in paper format.

"Maraming salamat sa inyong suporta, Ka-Riles (Thank you very much for your support, Ka-Riles)," the DOTr-MRT-3 expressed in gratitude towards commuters. The free ride offerings are part of the government's ongoing efforts to support commuters and promote the use of public transportation.
