Manila: Five senior police officials were reassigned in the latest Philippine National Police (PNP) reorganization that took effect on August 29. Former Highway Patrol Group (HPG) Director Brig. Gen. Rommel Batangan has been appointed as the new Acting Director of the PNP-Maritime Group.
According to Philippines News Agency, Brig. Gen. Joyce Patrick Sangalang of the Civil Security Group is set to take over Batangan's previous position. In the academic and training sector, former PNP Academy Deputy Director Brig. Gen. Francisco Ebreo will assume the acting director post of the training service, while Brig. Gen. Roland Bulalacao will replace him at the academy.
Additionally, Public Information Office assistant chief Col. Renell Sabaldica has been reassigned as Executive Officer of the Directorate for Comptrollership. These changes follow a separate set of high-profile transfers, including Brig. Gen. Christopher Olazo's appointment as the new director of the Quezon City Police District, succeeding Brig. Gen. Randy Glenn Silvio, who now leads Police Regional Office-5 (Bicol).
Brig. Gen. Crisaleo Tolentino has also transitioned from his role at the Maritime Group to become the new Acting Regional Director of Police Regional Office-1 (Ilocos Region).
