Manila: At least five individuals have expressed interest in joining the bidding for the seven luxury vehicles of the Discayas, which is set on Thursday at the Bureau of Customs (BOC) in South Harbor, Manila.
According to Philippines News Agency, lawyer Chris Bendijo, deputy chief of staff of Commissioner Ariel Nepomuceno, stated that the interested bidders have registered and paid the registration fee. “In terms of those who have registered.more than five have already expressed their interest and paid the registration fee,” he mentioned at the Bagong Pilipinas Ngayon public briefing.
The BOC official noted that in case of a failure of bidding, adjustments to floor prices and a rescheduling of the auction would be implemented. “In terms of, for example, if no one bids here, we have measures in place, for example, we will rebid, we will adjust your floor price,” he explained.
Bendijo further elaborated, “And if there is still a failed bidding for the second time, there are still parameters; we can now engage in direct negotiations, we will accept proposals from interested bidders. Those are the methods to ensure that these (vehicles) will actually be auctioned.”
The vehicles up for auction include a Toyota Tundra (2022), Toyota Sequoia (2023), Rolls-Royce Cullinan (2023), Mercedes-Benz G63 AMG (2022), Mercedes-Benz G500 (2019, Brabus), Lincoln Navigator L (2021), and Bentley Bentayga (2022).
The floor price for the auction is set at PHP17,311,121.93, with a bond of PHP865,556. The bidding is scheduled to take place on November 20 at 10 a.m.
