EU Diplomat Kaja Kallas to Visit Philippines for Strengthening Ties

Manila: The Philippines is set to welcome the High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy and Vice President of the European Commission, Kaja Kallas, for her official visit from June 1 to 2. This visit is a significant event as it marks Kallas’ first time in the country following her appointment in December.

According to Philippines News Agency, the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) emphasized the importance of this visit as a milestone in the diplomatic relations between the Philippines and the European Union. It signifies a mutual commitment to fostering open political dialogue and enhancing cooperation with the aim of achieving peace, stability, and sustainable development.

During her visit, Kallas is scheduled to meet with Foreign Affairs Secretary Enrique Manalo. The discussions will focus on ways to further strengthen the relations between the Philippines and the EU, especially in light of challenging regional and international issues. Additionally, she will engage with other high-level officials of the Philippine government, as noted by the DFA.
