Drug Courier Yields P3.4-M ‘Shabu’ in Camarines Sur

Camarines sur: Police arrested a high-value drug suspect and seized PHP3.4 million worth of suspected shabu in a buy-bust operation in Pamplona, Camarines Sur on Thursday.

According to Philippines News Agency, the operation resulted in the seizure of 500 grams of shabu and the arrest of a drug courier linked to the trafficking of large quantities of illegal drugs from Metro Manila to the Bicol Region. Brig. Gen. Nestor Babagay Jr., director of the Police Regional Office in Bicol (PRO-5), detailed the successful operation which aimed to curb illegal drug activities in the area.

The suspect, identified as “Beng,” is a 28-year-old male from Barangay 775, San Andres, Manila. He is classified as a high-value individual and had been under extensive surveillance by the Police Drug Enforcement Unit (PDEG-5) due to his alleged involvement in transporting and distributing illegal drugs within the Bicol region.

Upon his arrest, officers confiscated 500 grams of suspected shabu from his possession, with an estimated street value of PHP3.4 million. The illegal drugs have been turned over to the PDEG for proper documentation and disposal, and charges for violations of RA 9165 are currently being prepared against the suspect.
