DOT Accredits 84 Establishments in Antique

Antique: The Department of Tourism (DOT) - Western Visayas has accredited 84 establishments during its four-day Accreditation on Wheels in Antique. 'The 84 newly accredited establishments will be able to avail of the technical support and training for their frontliners so that they can provide a positive impression to tourists visiting our province,' Celestino Dalumpines IV of the Office of the Provincial Tourism Officer, said during a media conference on Friday.

According to Philippines News Agency, Dalumpines emphasized that a positive impression will keep tourists coming back and may even encourage their families and friends to join. The 84 establishments are in addition to the 211 accredited homestays, hotels, spas, and resorts in the province. Dalumpines also highlighted the importance of DOT accreditation as Antique recently linked with 64 tour operator-members of the Iloilo Travel Agencies and Tour Operators Association (ILTATOA) to help promote the province's tourist destinations.

'Tourists from Iloilo and bound for Boracay Island in Aklan pass by Antique. ILTATOA members, when I approached them, agreed to help us promote our province,' Dalumpines said. Among the top tourist destinations promoted in Antique are the Malumpati Adventure and Eco-Park for its cold spring in Pandan town; Whale Shark Watching, the first in Western Visayas, in Libertad; and Aningalan, considered the 'Baguio in Panay' because of its cold climate, in San Remegio.

Antique recorded 120,080 foreign and domestic tourists during the first half of 2026.
