DOLE Launches Sagip-Trabaho Program in Valenzuela

Valenzuela:The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) launched the Sagip-Trabaho program in the National Capital Region, focusing on Valenzuela City. This initiative is designed to support eligible workers by covering up to 90 days of wages.

According to Philippines News Agency, the program aligns with President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.'s mandate to make government services more accessible. Labor Secretary Francis Tolentino emphasized its role in job preservation and implementing salary increases for workers.

The rollout was piloted at the CAMANAVA Field Office, with collaboration from 13 partner employers, benefiting over 200 workers. The session aimed to familiarize stakeholders with the program's procedures and objectives.

Tolentino urged workers to maintain devotion and productivity, expressing hope that local businesses will thrive without closures while ensuring salary increases. The Sagip-Trabaho initiative, part of the TUPAD program, aims to sustain employment in micro, small, and medium enterprises facing operational or financial challenges.
