Antique: The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) released PHP13.377 million in incentives to the provincial government of Antique and nine local government units for winning the Seal of Good Local Governance (SGLG) award. DILG Antique SGLG focal person Jessana Carmela Tatoy stated that in addition to the provincial government, the municipalities of Barbaza, Belison, Culasi, Libertad, Pandan, Patnongon, San Jose de Buenavista, San Remigio, and Valderrama received their incentives on Tuesday.

According to Philippines News Agency, the Antique provincial government, led by Governor Rhodora Cadiao, received PHP3 million, while nine LGUs each received PHP1.153 million as an SGLG incentive. The provincial government plans to use the incentive to procure an ambulance for the Angel Salazar Memorial General Hospital.

The nine LGUs have also identified infrastructure and non-infrastructure projects as their priority for the SGLG incentive. Barbaza plans to improve the municipal children’s playground, Belison and Culasi are set to install closed-circuit television, Libertad will construct a Level 2 water system, Pandan will build a waste containment area, and Patnongon will focus on river flood control construction.

San Jose de Buenavista has prioritized the purchase of a garbage truck, San Remigio will construct a center for persons with disabilities and senior citizens, and Valderrama will develop a tourist information and pasalubong (souvenir) center.
