Manila: Nearly 1,000 families have received housing entitlements under the Expanded Pambansang Pabahay Para sa Pilipino (4PH) Program, the Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development (DHSUD) said Tuesday.
According to Philippines News Agency, DHSUD Secretary Jose Ramon Aliling stated that the distribution of Certificates of Entitlement (COEs) and land awards to qualified beneficiaries was among the highlights of the National Housing Expo 2025. During this event, the agency showcased its shelter initiatives aimed at low-income families.
About 925 families from five homeowners’ associations benefitted from newly approved projects under the Social Housing Finance Corp.’s Enhanced Community Mortgage Program. Additionally, 10 other families received their COEs under two presidential proclamations covering lots in Lucena City and Los Ba±os, Laguna.
Aliling emphasized the directive of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. to provide decent, safe, and dignified housing to those most in need, particularly the country’s poorest citizens. He noted that the Expanded 4PH offers various housing modalities tailored to the needs and financial capacities of Filipino families, ensuring inclusivity in the government’s pursuit of sustainable shelter for all.
During the housing expo, beneficiary representatives personally received their COEs and land awards from DHSUD officials. This event marked a significant milestone for families who had waited decades for land tenure recognition.
The DHSUD, under the Marcos administration, assured the public of its commitment to strengthening the Expanded 4PH Program to provide safe, decent, and affordable housing that promotes economic stability and dignity for all Filipino families. Since taking office, Aliling has revived and accelerated the Community Mortgage Program to enhance land security for informal settler families and expedite the processing of COEs under several presidential land proclamations.
