DepEd and Nestl© Philippines Collaborate to Enhance Nutrition Education for Students

Taguig City: The Department of Education (DepEd) has partnered with Nestl© Philippines to further boost its nutrition education program in public schools across select regions in the country. This collaboration aims to provide comprehensive nutrition education and promote healthier lifestyle choices among students.

According to Philippines News Agency, Education Secretary Sonny Angara emphasized the significance of the partnership during the DepEd’s Nestl© Wellness Campus Program in Taguig City on January 28. Angara stated, “Together, we aim to nurture champions, champions in sports, champions in academics, and champions in life.” He highlighted that the partnership goes beyond a mere contract, serving as a commitment to the younger generation.

The program is designed to educate learners and their families about healthier lifestyle choices and food diets. It will incorporate nutrition modules and physical activities for students from Grades 1 to 10. Additional activities, such as Wellness Songs and Dance, will also be included to engage students and encourage active participation.

The initiative will be implemented in several regions, including Metro Manila, Calabarzon, Bicol, Eastern, Central, and Western Visayas, as well as Northern Mindanao and Davao. Through this program, DepEd and Nestl© Philippines aim to foster a healthier future for students and their families.
