Legazpi city: The Department of Environment and Natural Resources in Bicol (DENR-5) distributed 146 land titles and 4,400 seedlings to beneficiaries across the region as part of the nationwide Handog ng Pangulo 2026. Serbisyong Sapat Para sa Lahat on Monday. This initiative aims to bring essential government services and assistance to communities.
According to Philippines News Agency, DENR Bicol Regional Executive Director Francisco Milla Jr. stated that the activity coincided with the recent birthday celebration of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. It was organized with the participation of national government agencies, local government units, and other partner institutions. DENR Undersecretary for Field Operations and Line Bureaus Joselin Marcus Fragada represented President Marcos at the event.
Milla reiterated the DENR-5's commitment to the Marcos administration's directive to deliver accessible, responsive, and meaningful government services to communities throughout the region. In Camarines Sur, DENR-5 distributed 120 land patents and 2,000 indigenous seedlings during the activity at the Fuerte CamSur Sports Complex.
The agency also facilitated its DENR Express: Permitting on Wheels (POW), providing on-site assistance with permitting concerns, along with an information, education, and communication (IEC) campaign on environmental programs and regulations. In Albay, DENR distributed 1,000 coffee, cacao, pili, bignay, kasoy, and balitbitan seedlings at the Albay Provincial Agriculture Office in Camalig. The agency also provided permitting assistance and conducted an IEC campaign.
During the activity at the University of Camarines Norte, Camarines Norte beneficiaries received 11 land patents and 100 assorted seedlings, while the Sorsogon Provincial Capitol in Sorsogon City distributed 15 land patents and 1,000 various indigenous seedlings. DENR personnel in both provinces also conducted Permitting on Wheels and IEC activities.
In Catanduanes, DENR distributed 200 cacao, pili, and narra seedlings at the Capitol grounds. Meanwhile, 100 narra seedlings were distributed in Masbate at the San Jacinto Municipal Covered Court, where DENR also conducted Permitting on Wheels and an IEC campaign.
The regional distribution of land patents provided beneficiaries with documents confirming their land tenure, while the seedlings were intended to support tree planting and environmental rehabilitation in participating communities.
