DA-11 Dispatches 20 Metric Tons of Davao Fruits to Cebu and Bohol

Cebu: The Department of Agriculture - Davao (DA-11) announced that after the successful "Kadiwa on Wheels" event in Metro Manila last week, Davao fruits are now set to be delivered to Cebu City and Bohol. The shipment is scheduled to depart Davao on September 8, with sales taking place from September 10 to 16.

According to Philippines News Agency, DA-11's Agribusiness and Marketing Assistance Division has confirmed that a total of 20 metric tons of fruits will be transported to Central Visayas. This initiative is designed to bring Davao's agricultural produce closer to consumers in Central Visayas, while simultaneously creating expanded market opportunities for local farmers.

The first leg of sales was hosted by the DA central office on September 3, followed by another event at Kartilya ng Katipunan near Manila City Hall on September 4. Following their visit to Central Visayas, the Kadiwa on Wheels will proceed to Baguio City from September 25 to 28, and then to the World Trade Center in Pasay City from October 8 to 10.

DA-11 has expressed their commitment to strengthening market linkages, enhancing consumer access, and offering better opportunities for local growers. Data indicates that the participating farmer cooperatives and associations include the Davao City Durian Industry Development Council and the Durian Industry Association of Davao City. The overall target volume for the Kadiwa on Wheels initiative is 70 metric tons.
