Converge Taps Starlink and Ribbon for Enhanced Connectivity

Taguig City: Fiber broadband and technology provider Converge has announced partnerships with Starlink and Ribbon Communications, Inc. to expand connectivity and increase reach. “Many enterprises suffer from connectivity (challenges),” said Converge Singapore Managing Director Sherie Ng during the announcement in Taguig City on Tuesday.

According to Philippines News Agency, the partnerships aim to empower people and extend services to more areas and industries, including construction, mining, and hospitality. Converge CEO Dennis Uy stated that the collaboration with Starlink will provide low-latency satellite solutions to businesses and government agencies nationwide. Uy mentioned that Converge is authorized to resell Starlink’s services, thus enabling industries even in remote areas.

Ng highlighted the benefits for businesses operating in remote and underserved regions that struggle with unreliable internet. “By integrating Starlink into our products, we are unlocking opportunities for these industries and the Filipinos who depend on them,” Ng added. Both executives noted that the collaboration with Starlink offers redundancy solutions or secondary backup. Starlink delivers broadband internet with speeds of up to 200 Mbps.

Converge has also partnered with Ribbon to enhance its network. The company will use Ribbon’s muse multilayer automation platform (MAP) and AI capabilities to maximize the value of optical network investments. Uy emphasized the importance of infrastructure support, stating, “It’s vital that our infrastructure could support these. Adopting the new technology is crucial to effectively manage large amounts of data from cloud services, IoT (internet of things) solutions.” The partnership with Ribbon ensures that Converge’s fiber network is equipped with next-generation services such as enterprise solutions and cloud applications.
