Antique: Supporters of senatorial candidates and party-list groups in Antique are rushing to remove illegally posted and oversized campaign materials following the directive of the Commission on Elections (Comelec).

According to Philippines News Agency, Angel Pacificador, the Antique Provincial Coordinator of the Uswag Party-list, announced on Monday that efforts are underway to take down posters in public spaces and those exceeding the allowed size. The directive aims to ensure compliance with campaign guidelines as the election season progresses.

AnaKalusugan Party-list supporter Wilson Geronimo also confirmed that their campaign is actively relocating posters from public areas along national roads to private properties where they are legally permitted. This move aligns with Comelec’s emphasis on adhering to the regulations concerning campaign materials.

Comelec Acting Regional Director and Antique Provincial Election Supervisor Wil Arce±o reiterated that Monday was the deadline for candidates and their supporters to remove non-compliant materials from public areas. “Only posters measuring two by three feet are allowed,” he stated, underscoring the importance of adhering to the size restrictions set by the electoral body.

Candidates and parties that fail to comply with these regulations will receive a notice from Comelec and may face election offenses. This enforcement is part of Comelec’s broader efforts to maintain a fair and orderly electoral process.

Meanwhile, supporters of the Uswag Ilonggo Party-list are gearing up to kick off their campaign with a caravan across Antique’s 18 towns as the official campaign period begins on Tuesday, marking the start of a crucial phase in the election cycle.
