Manila: The running total of applications received during voter registration activities has now approached 500,000 since the initiative began in the middle of last month, in connection with the November 2026 Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan Elections (BSKE).
According to Philippines News Agency, the Commission on Elections (Comelec) reported processing 484,334 applications, which include voter registration and transfer of registration from other cities or municipalities, among others, from October 20 to November 16. The data highlights that Calabarzon recorded the highest number of applications processed, with 103,752, followed by the National Capital Region with 63,030; Central Luzon, 54,080; Central Visayas, 28,047; and Caraga, 26,585. Conversely, the Cordillera region logged the lowest number of applications processed at 6,478.
The processed data accounts for those who have applied as village (regular voters) and youth voters (SK applicants aged 15 to 17), in addition to other applications. These include reinstatement of name omitted from the List of Voters, transfer within the city or municipality, transfer with reactivation, transfer with reactivation and correction of entries, transfer with correction of entries, reactivation, change of name or correction of entries, and transfer from Post to local (other than the original place of registration).
Moreover, applications being accepted include transfers from Post to Local with correction of entries, reinstatement from Post to Local with transfers within the same district, city, or municipality, reinstatement from Post to Local with transfer within and correction of entries, and inclusion of record in the Book of Voters.
The seven-month voter registration activities will continue until May 18, 2026. Comelec aims to register approximately 1.4 million new voters. The country currently has over 92.7 million registered voters, with more than 23.4 million being youth voters.
