CIDG Seizes P1.2M Illegal Petroleum Products in Oriental Mindoro

Oriental Mindoro: The Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) has confiscated 21,000 liters of illegal diesel petroleum products worth PHP1.26 million in Oriental Mindoro province.

According to Philippines News Agency, CIDG chief Maj. Gen. Nicolas Torre III stated that the suspect, identified as Rommel, was apprehended while distributing and trading the petroleum products in Barangay Del Pilar, Naujan town on February 21. This operation was conducted by the CIDG Oriental Mindoro Provincial Field Unit agents, leading to the arrest of the suspect.

Maj. Gen. Torre mentioned that charges are being prepared against the suspect for violating Batas Pambansa 33, which defines and penalizes acts inimical to the public interest and national security, and Republic Act 11592, also known as the LPG Industry Regulation Act.

Furthermore, Torre emphasized the CIDG’s commitment to enforcing laws against prohibited acts that threaten public interest and national security, especially those involving petroleum products. He encouraged the public to report any illegal trading activities and other criminalities related to petroleum products, assuring that the CIDG will handle the enforcement.
