Laguna utility firm enhances water quality via UV technology

CALAMBA CITY: The Calamba Water District (CWD) has implemented a cutting-edge ultraviolet (UV) hydro-optic disinfection system at its pumping station in Barangay Bucal, significantly improving water quality for residents of this city. In an interview on Wednesday, Exequiel Aguilar Jr., general manager of CWD, shared that this advanced disinfection method reduces the need for chlorine in the service pipes that supply households. Kedah To Channel Aid Of RM1,000 To Each Flood-affected Household Head

ALOR SETAR, The Kedah government has assured that all household heads (KIR) affected by the floods and relocated to relief centres (PPS) will receive the RM1,000 assistance as promised. Gold Futures Rise For 5th Straight Day

KUALA LUMPUR, The gold futures contract on Bursa Malaysia Derivatives extended its gains for the fifth consecutive day, supported by continued optimism on lower US interest rates. The September 2024 gold futures contract rose to US$2,658.50 per troy ounce, up from US$2,632.70 on Tuesday. The October 2024, November 2024, December 2024, February 2025 and April 2025 contracts all settled higher at US$2,671.50 per troy ounce, compared with US$2,645.70 previously.
