New bike lanes to address vehicular congestion in Bacoor – DOTr

BACOOR: Transportation Secretary Jaime Bautista said Wednesday the new bike lanes being constructed in Bacoor, Cavite would help address the worsening vehicular congestion in the city. During the groundbreaking ceremony for the bike lanes here, Bautista said the bike lanes would have an immediate impact on residents and encourage more cyclists to participate in the Department of Transportation’s (DOTr) Active Transport Program. ‘With the construction of bike lanes, kahit papaano makakatulong tayo na mabawasan ang traffic dito sa Bacoor (we will be able to reduce some vehicle congestion in Bacoor),’ he said. GISBH: 34 Individuals To Be Re-arrested Under SOSMA – IGP

KUALA LUMPUR, Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Razarudin Husain announced that 34 individuals linked to GISB Holdings Sdn Bhd (GISBH), whose remand period ended today, will be re-arrested under the Security Offences (Special Measures) Act 2012 (SOSMA). “Another 127 individuals have been released on bail after their remand period ended, and we advise them to approach the police if they require any welfare support,’ he said in a statement today. FBM KLCI Futures Close Mixed

KUALA LUMPUR, The FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI (FBM KLCI) futures contract on Bursa Malaysia Derivatives ended mixed today. The spot month September 2024 and March 2025 contracts were unchanged at 1,667.5 and 1,662.5, respectively. The October 2024 note inched up half-a-point to 1,671.0 and December 2024 gained one point to 1,676.0. Turnover declined to 30,428 lots from 31,370 lots on Tuesday while open interest expanded to 80,583 contracts from 75,828 contracts previously. Number Of Flood Evacuees In Kedah Continues To Drop

ALOR SETAR, The number of flood victims in Kedah has continued to drop, with 2,942 from 939 families as at 4 pm today, compared to 5,454 from 1,745 families this morning. According to the Social Welfare Department’s (JKM) Info Bencana report, all evacuees from the four affected districts were being housed at 20 relief centres, down from 29 previously.
