Agencies Under KUSKOP Offer Moratorium, Assistance For Flood-hit Entrepreneurs

Agencies under the Entrepreneur Development and Cooperatives Ministry (KUSKOP) are offering assistance and moratorium to ease the burdens faced by entrepreneurs affected by floods in northern Peninsular Malaysia. In a statement today, the ministry said that TEKUN Nasional is offering a moratorium of up to six months for entrepreneurs struggling to repay their loans due to flood-related challenges. ‘Affected entrepreneurs are also allowed to withdraw funds from their financing accounts and reschedule their repayment,’ it said. Police On Manhunt For Three Suspects In Telok Panglima Garang Burglary

The police are on a manhunt for three local men wanted for a house burglary in the Telok Panglima Garang residential area here on Sept 20. Kuala Langat District police chief Supt Ahmad Ridhwan Mohd Nor stated that during attempts to stop them, the suspects fled after colliding with an officer on a motorcycle. FBM KLCI Futures Close Lower

The FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI (FBM KLCI) futures contract on Bursa Malaysia Derivatives ended lower today. Spot month September 2024 fell 12.0 points to 1,658.5, October 2024 declined 10.5 points to 1,663.5, December 2024 edged down 9.0 points to 1,670.0 and March 2025 slipped 10.0 points to 1,655.5. Turnover dropped to 34,934 lots from 84,196 lots on Thursday, while open interest reduced to 90,858 contracts from 139,450 contracts previously.
