PEZA 10-month approvals rise to P124-B

Manila: The Philippine Economic Zone Authority (PEZA) reported Wednesday that it has approved a total of PHP123.76 billion worth of projects from January to October 2024. Despite the lower investment commitments, which went down by 6 percent from PHP131.76 billion in the same period in 2023, the number of projects approved by the PEZA Board in the first 10 months in 2024 improved to 198 from 169 last year. ‘Kristine’ strands over 1K travelers in E. Visayas ports

TACLOBAN CITY – Rough seas caused by Tropical Storm Kristine have stranded over a thousand passengers in different ports in the Eastern Visayas region, the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) reported on Wednesday. The daily issuance of notice of mariners by PCG halted the travel of at least 1,035 individuals heading to Central Visayas, Bicol, and Surigao from the ports in Leyte and Samar Island.
