La Union provides food, non-food items to 1,398 evacuees

The provincial government of La Union has provided PHP210,000 worth of food packs and non-food items to evacuees affected by Severe Tropical Storm Kristine (international name: Trami). As of 5 p.m. on Thursday, the relief supplies were distributed to 467 families, or 1,398 individuals, from the towns of Luna, Bangar, Balaoan, Rosario, Burgos, Aringay, and Caba, and San Fernando City who are staying in 29 evacuation centers. LTFRB grants special permits to 753 buses for Undas travelers

The Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) has granted special permits to 753 buses as it ramps up its preparations for the expected volume of passengers traveling for the observance of Undas this year. LTFRB Chairperson Teofilo Guadiz III said the board has issued 272 special permits equivalent to 753 buses. BOC processing donation of 4K abandoned balikbayan boxes to DMW

Manila: The Bureau of Customs (BOC) on Thursday said over 4,000 abandoned balikbayan boxes would be donated to the Department of Migrant Workers (DMW). In a news release, the BOC said it is currently processing the donation of these balikbayan boxes to the DMW, which would oversee their distribution to OFWs. Coast Guard lifts travel suspension in Surigao Norte, Dinagat

SURIGAO CITY – The Coast Guard Stations in the provinces of Surigao del Norte and Dinagat Islands lifted the temporary sea travel suspension Thursday, following improved weather conditions. The suspension imposed on Tuesday affected Siargao, Bucas Grande, and nearby areas under Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal No. 1 due to Tropical Storm Kristine. PSEi falls below 7,300 mark
