Caravan of Services Reaches Remote Barangays in Hamtic

Hamtic: About 1,000 residents of four remote barangays in the municipality of Hamtic in Antique benefited from the End to Local Communist Armed Conflict (ELCAC) medical and civic action initiative. The event, held on Tuesday, targeted the residents of Barangays Pili, Bongbongan III, Pasu-jungao, and Linaban.

According to Philippines News Agency, Governor Paolo Everardo Javier emphasized the collaborative efforts of various government agencies to extend their services to hard-to-reach areas. During the program at the Barangay Linaban multi-purpose gymnasium, the provincial government, along with 23 other national government agencies, delivered essential services to the local residents.

The initiative, spearheaded by the provincial government peace and order and public safety office, offered a wide range of services including medical and dental check-ups, circumcision, and eye examinations. Additionally, Governor Javier distributed family food packs, slippers, school supplies, and other assistance to those in need.

The Antique Police provided support by processing police clearance applications, while the Philippine Army conducted free eye check-ups and distributed eyeglasses. Bongbongan III Barangay Captain Alejandro Salinas expressed gratitude for the medical and dental services, marking the first such mission in the area since 2023.

Mary Joy Alcantara, a resident of Barangay Linaban, took advantage of the opportunity by bringing her children and mother to receive the much-needed medical and dental services. She expressed appreciation for the program, highlighting the positive impact on her family’s well-being.
