Marikina: The Board of Investments (BOI) and the National Development Company (NDC) are set to introduce a government agency One-Stop Shop (OSS) through a self-service digital kiosk at the Philippine Innovation Hub-Marikina Enterprise Center (PIH-MEC). This initiative aims to significantly simplify business processes in the region.

According to Philippines News Agency, this development follows the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MOU) between the BOI and the NDC. The agreement is part of a broader effort to improve the ease of doing business in the Philippines. Trade Undersecretary and BOI Managing Head, Ceferino Rodolfo, emphasized the importance of this partnership in making government services more accessible to the public.

Rodolfo stated that the collaboration between BOI and NDC marks a significant advancement towards their shared objective of simplifying business operations in the nation. The MOU highlights a commitment to making government services more accessible, efficient, and conducive to investment.

The agreement outlines a plan to bolster the partnership by enhancing access to online services and digital resources, alongside improved inter-agency coordination. This initiative aims to foster innovation, entrepreneurship, and investment promotion.

BOI Investments Assistance Center Executive Director, lawyer Bobby Fondevilla, noted that the digital kiosk will act as a collaborative platform to promote business convenience in the country. The partnership with NDC is expected to integrate investment-related services and information into the PIH-MEC.

The BOI will oversee the provision of access to its online services, portals, and information systems, ensuring that digital content and service links are consistently updated and functional. NDC will provide the necessary space for the Digital Government Service Kiosk and handle support for basic infrastructure needs such as electricity, connectivity, and facility maintenance.

Through PIH-MEC, NDC offers a platform dedicated to innovation programs and business support services. The Philippine Innovation Hub (iHub) was established by NDC in April 2025, underscoring its support for startups, micro, small, and medium enterprises, as well as initiatives in innovation, entrepreneurship, and digitalization.
