Bicol Cops Seize P10.3-M Illegal Drugs in Weeklong Operations

Bicol: The Police Regional Office in Bicol (PRO-5) has successfully confiscated PHP10.3 million worth of illegal drugs and arrested 37 suspects during a series of operations carried out from January 13 to 19.

According to Philippines News Agency, PRO-5 Director Brig. Gen. Andre Dizon reported that the operations, 29 in total, were conducted across the Bicol region. These operations led to the seizure of 1,524.73 grams of shabu and 13.38 grams of marijuana. Among the provinces, Albay recorded the highest amount of seized illegal drugs, valued at PHP5.18 million. Camarines Sur followed with PHP4.12 million, and Camarines Norte reported PHP734,400 worth of confiscated drugs.

Additionally, the provinces of Masbate and Sorsogon reported drug seizures amounting to PHP170,204 and PHP149,600, respectively. It was noted that no illegal drug-related operations were conducted in Catanduanes during this period.

Brig. Gen. Dizon praised the efforts of the operatives and teams involved in these operations. He also emphasized the crucial support provided by the community in assisting the Philippine National Police (PNP) in its campaign against illegal drugs. “The success of these operations is proof of the hard work and dedication of our personnel, as well as the trust and cooperation of our communities,” Dizon stated. He further assured that the momentum will be maintained, with unwavering commitment to achieving a drug-free Bicol.
