Bicol: The Police Regional Office in Bicol (PRO-5) honored several personnel for their exemplary service and good deeds during the 31st Philippine National Police (PNP) Ethics Day celebration on Monday. At the awarding ceremony, held in Camp Gen. Simeon A. Ola, PRO5 director Brig. Gen. Andre Dizon highlighted the importance of ethical conduct and integrity within the police ranks.

According to Philippines News Agency, Dizon emphasized that the PNP’s code of conduct serves as a moral compass for all personnel, guiding their actions and decisions to meet high standards of professionalism. He stated that adherence to these principles builds public trust and ensures honorable service to communities across the nation. This year’s theme, ‘Serbisyong may Integridad at Pananagutan, Tungo sa Ligtas at Mapayapang Pilipinas,’ underscores the significance of ethical conduct and moral responsibility in maintaining public trust.

The event saw the awarding of the Medalya ng Papuri to Lt. Judith dela Pe±a of the 2nd Police Mobile Force Company (PMFC) of Albay Provincial Police Office for her service during an emergency involving an elderly handicapped man. Her quick response ensured the victim’s safe transport to a clinic, safeguarding his health. The Medalya ng Ugnayang Pampulisya was awarded to several officers, including Capt. Ralph Alfred Bongalbal for leading a gift-giving and feeding program for children from the Manide Tribe, and Capt. Jerson Recuenco for installing solar street lights in a community project.

Senior M/Sgt. Hilben Matiaga was recognized for facilitating livelihood training in Naga City, providing opportunities in food processing. S/Sgt. Gelmar Domagtoy was honored for constructing a temporary bridge in Catanduanes, crucial for transporting goods after Tropical Storm Kristine.

Dizon reiterated the PNP’s commitment to its core values of service, honor, and justice, highlighting the importance of recognizing and rewarding excellence and dedication among its personnel.
