BALER, Aurora – The Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (PDRRMC) convened Tuesday to prepare for Typhoon Leon and the observance of “Undas” or All Saints’ and All Saints’ Days.
Governor Reynante Tolentino said the provincial government will be conducting round-the-clock monitoring for updates on Leon.
The province’s Emergency Operation Center will be activated Oct. 30 until Nov. 3.
‘I am extending my full support in this council meeting to continue to the fullest level our Serbisyong Bukas Palad (open palm services) for the benefit of the people of Aurora, to heighten alerts and prepare for any emergencies. Let us support the plans and programs of the PGA without politicizing,’ he said during the meeting at the capitol.
Meanwhile, heads of the local DRRM councils shared their deployment and typhoon contingency plans.
Maj. Emil Sison, who represented Aurora Police Provincial Office Director, Col. Roginald Francisco, said 547 officers, troops from the 91st Infantry Battalion, and othe
r force multipliers are set to be deployed across the province.
PDRRM Office chief Elson Egargue said the release of the quick response fund worth PHP27.7 million and local DRRM fund amounting to PHP90.5 million has been approved.
The funds will be used for disaster preparedness, response, and prepositioning of food and non-food items.
