Taguig: The Philippine Army (PA) has announced the implementation of a comprehensive security plan to ensure safety and order at the Libingan Ng Mga Bayani (LNMB) in Fort Bonifacio, Taguig during the observance of All Saints’ and All Souls’ Days on November 1 and 2.
According to Philippines News Agency, the security measures are being coordinated with the Philippine National Police (PNP) and the local government of Taguig. Army spokesperson Col. Louie Dema-ala revealed that PA personnel would be deployed at the LNMB to manage the safety and smooth movement of visitors throughout the area during the annual observance known as ‘Undas.’
Col. Dema-ala mentioned that while the exact number of troops assigned to the event is still being finalized in conjunction with other stakeholders, the PA is committed to ensuring a secure environment for all visitors. “Later malalaman natin (we will know) the final numbers ng mai-involve na (of the involved or deployed) personnel,” he added.
The responsibility of maintaining the 103.34-hectare LNMB is assigned to the PA’s Grave Services Unit of the Army Support Command. The LNMB is a significant national cemetery, serving as the final resting place for Filipino soldiers, presidents, dignitaries, national artists, scientists, boy scouts, and numerous soldiers who perished in action during World War II and the Korean War.
