Buenavista: Nine enforcers from the Land Transportation Office in Caraga Region (LTO-13) were arrested in an entrapment operation for alleged bribery. The operation took place on Thursday in Buenavista, Agusan del Norte, and was coordinated with the police.

According to Philippines News Agency, personnel from the PRO-13 intelligence division and Buenavista Municipal Police Station conducted the operation, which led to the arrest of the suspects. Lt. Col. Jennifer Ometer, the PRO-13 information chief, stated that the arrested individuals are now under the custody of the Buenavista police station, with charges being prepared for filing in court. The enforcers are facing direct bribery charges and violations of Republic Act 3019, also known as the Anti-Graft and Corrupt Practices Act.

In a separate development, the Philippine Coconut Authority (PCA) is expanding its incentive programs for coconut farmers to increase productivity and strengthen the country's coconut industry. In Pagudpud town, eligible coconut farmers from Barangays Saguigui, Saud, Dampig, and Caunayan received check incentives amounting to more than PHP300,000 as part of the PCA's Coconut Hybridization Program. This program provides cash incentives for cultivating and planting coconut seedlings, offsetting production costs and supporting the rehabilitation of aging coconut plantations.

Pagudpud Mayor Rafael Ralph Benemerito expressed gratitude to the PCA for its efforts to revitalize the town's coconut industry. He highlighted that the PCA had earlier granted 50,000 coconut seedlings to Pagudpud, which are now being grown under the municipality's Integrated Social Forestry program. Continuous training is being conducted by the PCA to increase coconut production and modernize the industry through technology and livelihood support.
