Antique: The Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) household beneficiaries and the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) personnel are set to participate in the annual maintenance activity organized by the Department of Education (DepEd) Schools Division of Antique, scheduled from June 9 to 13.
According to Philippines News Agency, Jeffrey Gabucay, the Antique Pantawid Provincial Link, mentioned in an interview that 4Ps parents have been instructed to collaborate with principals or school heads of public schools to assist in cleaning classrooms and school premises during Brigada Eskwela. Gabucay emphasized their commitment and responsibility to support the initiative, highlighting its importance in creating a conducive learning environment.
Antique boasts approximately 23,000 household beneficiaries who benefit from cash grants aimed at meeting their children’s education and health needs. Meanwhile, BFP Antique Senior Fire Officer 2 Ramil Escander shared that they have received an invitation from DepEd Antique to join the Brigada Eskwela. He noted that the BFP’s involvement would depend on the specific tasks requested by school principals or heads.
Last year, BFP personnel contributed by constructing a footwalk at Talisay Elementary School in Anini-y and undertaking classroom repainting and cleaning school premises in other municipalities. This year’s theme, ‘Brigada Eskwela: Sama-sama Para sa Bayang Bumabasa,’ highlights the collective effort needed to provide a clean, safe, and conducive learning environment, with a particular focus on literacy development.
The opening program will be hosted by Moscoso Rios National High School in the municipality of Hamtic, following a caravan starting from Robinson’s Place, San Jose de Buenavista, on June 9.
