PNP Maintains High Alert Amid Holiday Season Security Concerns

Manila: While no major security threat has been detected yet, Philippine National Police (PNP) acting chief Lt. Gen Jose Melencio Nartatez Jr. assured the public that the PNP will remain on high alert to prevent any untoward incidents during the holiday season. According to Philippines News Agency, police units across the country have been instructed to strengthen their presence in public areas, major thoroughfares, and key venues where holiday events and gatherings are expected. This precaution comes in light of the fatal shooting incident at Bondi Beach in Sydney, Australia, which resulted in the deaths of at least 16 individuals.

PH Airports Implement Strategic Measures to Handle Holiday Travel Surge

Manila: Measures are in place as airports across the country gear up for the expected influx this holiday season, authorities said on Tuesday. At the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) and other major gateways, the Bureau of Immigration (BI) has deployed additional manpower to help ease congestion.
