Typhoon-Hit Families in Negros Receive Essential Shelter Kits and Relief Aid

Bago city: A total of 84 families in Bago City, Negros Occidental, severely affected by Typhoon Tino, have received shelter recovery assistance from national government agencies. According to Philippines News Agency, the Office of Civil Defense-Negros Island Region (OCD-NIR) provided family tents and shelter repair kits, while the Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development distributed shelter-grade tarpaulins. The 84 beneficiaries are among those whose homes suffered extensive damage or were completely washed away during the typhoon. Mayon volcano: Mayon Volcano is not expected to erupt soon due to low volcanic activity, the head of the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) assured on Monday.
