PSEi Rises Amid Bargain-Hunting, Peso Remains Stable Against USD

Manila: Bargain-hunting reversed the decline of the Philippine Stock Exchange index (PSEi) on Tuesday, and the peso finished the trade almost flat after several days of appreciation. The local bourse’s main index rose 0.09 percent to 5,994.40 points, but the broader All Shares went down 1.93 percent to 3,475.50 points. NGCP Schedules 12-Hour Power Outage in Negros Oriental for System Upgrades

Dumaguete: The National Grid Corp. of the Philippines (NGCP) continues to upgrade its power lines in Negros Oriental to ensure a sturdier, more reliable electricity supply, an official said Tuesday. According to Philippines News Agency, Michelle Visera of NGCP-Visayas stated in an interview that a 12-hour power outage is scheduled for Sunday to facilitate preventive maintenance and pole replacements in areas served by the Amlan-Siaton 69 kilovolt (kV) line. HIV Cases in Caraga Region Surpass 2,000 Mark

Butuan: An increase in the number of individuals found positive for human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) in the Caraga Region was logged this year compared to 2024. During the Kapihan sa SM on Tuesday, Arlene Serrano, the HIV program coordinator of the Department of Health in Caraga Region (DOH-13), said they recorded a total of 2,195 HIV cases this year.
