DFA Awaits Court Order to Cancel Co’s Passport

Manila: No court order has yet been issued directing the cancellation of resigned lawmaker Zaldy Co’s passport, the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) said. In a message on Friday night, the agency stated it can only proceed with the cancellation ‘upon receipt of a court order issued by a competent Philippine court instructing the DFA to cancel a Philippine passport.’ According to Philippines News Agency, this procedure is in accordance with Sections 4 and 10 of RA 11983, also known as the New Philippine Passport Act.
