Palawan: Typhoon Tino (international name Kalmaegi) maintained its strength early Wednesday as it continued to threaten northern Palawan while traversing the island province, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said. The center of Tino was estimated over the coastal waters of Linapacan, Palawan, with maximum sustained winds of 120 kilometers per hour (km/h) near the center, gustiness of up to 165 km/h, while moving west-northwestward at 15 km/h. Manila: The National Grid Corporation of the Philippines (NGCP) has successfully restored five transmission lines in the Visayas and Mindanao regions in the aftermath of Typhoon Tino, known internationally as Kalmaegi. Despite these efforts, two lines are only partially energized, while five others remain inoperative. According to Philippines News Agency, NGCP issued an advisory early Wednesday confirming that the Nabas-Unidos 69kV line, which provides service to the Aklan Electric Cooperative (AKELCO), was restored at 11:02 p.m. on Tuesday.
