Bacolod Cops Nab 8, Seize P1.36-M Shabu in Sting Op

Bacolod: Anti-drug operatives of Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) arrested eight persons and recovered PHP1.36 million in shabu during a buy-bust at a residence in Purok Tahong, Barangay 2, on Tuesday. The subject alias ‘Lorence,’ 22, was caught red-handed selling shabu, and was apprehended along with seven others during the operation conducted by the City Drug Enforcement Unit around 4:40 a.m. Also arrested were aliases ‘Vincent,’ 39; ‘Ace,’ 34; ‘Mark,’ 31; ‘John,’ 29; ‘Ogie,’ 27; ‘Ren,’ 23; and ‘Karl,’ 22. Baguio: The Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) recognized 18 outstanding stakeholders in Northern Luzon on Tuesday for their invaluable support in financial education and promotion. Nearly 500 Cops to Secure NegOr Buglasan Festival

Dumaguete city: The Negros Oriental Police Provincial Office (NOrPPO) will deploy 477 uniformed personnel to secure the Buglasan Festival, which runs from Oct. 16 to 26. Lt. Stephen Polinar, NOrPPO spokesperson, stated that these officers will be positioned at various venues and key areas, coordinating with other law enforcement personnel. The deployment will comprise personnel from the provincial headquarters, police stations, provincial mobile force companies, and a 35-member team from the Regional Mobile Force Company. DHSUD to Release Housing Aid for Calamity-Hit Cordillera Residents

Baguio city: The Department of Housing Settlement and Urban Development (DHSUD) in the Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR) announced plans to start distributing housing aid to over 6,700 beneficiaries whose homes were damaged by various calamities. Regional director Antonette Anaban stated in an interview that financial assistance would soon be released to those whose houses were completely destroyed or partially damaged. ASEAN Foundation Targets 17,500 Philippine MSMEs for AI Training

Manila: About 17,500 Philippines-based micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) are set to be enrolled in the two-year AI (artificial intelligence) for MSME Advancement in ASEAN (AIM ASEAN) program beginning this November. According to Philippines News Agency, the ASEAN Foundation announced that nine Southeast Asian organizations have been chosen to lead the domestic implementation of the program, with the impact enterprise Limitless Lab assisting MSMEs in the Philippines.
