Manila: The Commission on Elections (Comelec) has lifted the gun ban across the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) following the Supreme Court’s decision postponing the BARMM Parliamentary Elections (BPE) to next year. According to Philippines News Agency, Comelec issued Minute Resolution No. 25-1055 on October 3, which ordered the lifting of election-related prohibitions in line with the High Tribunal’s ruling. The resolution stated, “Lift all election prohibitions, inclusive of the lifting of the prohibitions on the bearing, carrying, or transporting of firearms and other deadly weapons in the entire BARMM region including the City of Isabela in Basilan.”

Manila: Elected and appointed Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) officials in good standing are now entitled to civil service eligibility, the Civil Service Commission (CSC) announced on Saturday. According to Philippines News Agency, in a press release, the CSC stated that under its Resolution No. 2500752, or the Rules Governing the Grant of Eligibility to SKOs promulgated on July 24, 2025, qualified SK officials who have completed a full three-year term of office, or its equivalent, may now acquire the Sangguniang Kabataan Official Eligibility (SKOE). Cotabato city: A Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) chairperson here was killed while his brother was critically injured in an ambush in this city’s busy thoroughfare on Saturday morning. Brig. Gen.
