25 Dead as Bus Carrying Mourners Overturns in Kenya
Kisumu: At least 25 people were killed when a 51-seater bus transporting mourners overturned in western Kenya, police reported. Nyanza Regional Traffic Commander Peter Maina stated that the victims were returning from a funeral when the bus lost control and overturned at a known blackspot, marking one of the region’s deadliest accidents in 2025. According to Philippines News Agency, the site of the accident, known as the Coptic Roundabout, is located in Kisumu County, approximately 350 kilometers (217 miles) northwest of Nairobi. This location has been notorious for accidents, adding to the growing concern over road safety in the area.
