Bicol: Over 2,287 sites in the Bicol Region are now providing internet access under the Department of Information and Communications Technology’s (DICT) Free Wi-Fi for All program. DICT-5 Director Rachel Ann Grabador stated that the public can now enjoy free internet access in numerous public places throughout the region. Ilocos norte: About 1,298 scholarship slots have been opened by the provincial government for senior high school students of Ilocos Norte. Willie Jake Sib-at, officer-in-charge of the Provincial Education Office, told the Philippine News Agency that the bulk of the slots, or 980, are for academic scholarships, while 340 are for agriculture and fisheries and 50 for arts, with the last two under the technical-vocational-livelihood strand. Pangasinan: A five-story hotel by Robinsons Hotels and Resorts will soon rise in this town and is expected to boost tourism, provide jobs, and increase economic activities.
