Manila: Families and individuals in Northern and Central Luzon affected by Typhoon ‘Bising’ and the southwest monsoon, or “habagat,” have received PHP719,187 in relief assistance from the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), an agency official reported. Subic: The Department of Agriculture (DA) and the Bureau of Customs (BOC) seized PHP100 million worth of smuggled agricultural products at the Subic port in Zambales. This operation was part of an intensified effort to combat agricultural smuggling, following the DA’s order to suspend the release of 59 40-foot shipments from China at the Subic Bay New Container Terminal. Manila: The Marcos administration’s anti-drug campaign has so far netted PHP30.29 billion worth of narcotics in the first six months of the year, the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) reported on Tuesday.
