Rising Boxing Star Carl Jammes Martin Triumphant in US Debut

Las Vegas: Rising Filipino boxing star Carl Jammes Martin impressed in his United States debut, defeating Mexican Francisco Pedroza Portillo via unanimous decision in their eight-rounder junior featherweight bout on Sunday (PH time) at Michelob Ultra Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. According to Philippines News Agency, the 26-year-old Martin dictated the pace early, using his jab and footwork that disrupted the Mexican’s rhythm. In round 6, Martin, currently the World Boxing Organization No. 2 junior featherweight, landed a big counter right hook that sent Portillo to the canvas. The Mexican, however, managed to beat the count and continue the fight.

BOI Eyes PHP1.12 Trillion in New Investments for Second Half of 2025

Manila: The Board of Investments (BOI) expects approximately PHP1.12 trillion worth of new investment projects to register during the second semester of the year. Some 65 projects, amounting to PHP290 billion, are undergoing check listing, while another three major projects worth PHP832 billion are also in the pipeline, securing necessary documents for registration.
