Las Vegas: Rising Filipino boxing star Carl Jammes Martin impressed in his United States debut, defeating Mexican Francisco Pedroza Portillo via unanimous decision in their eight-rounder junior featherweight bout on Sunday (PH time) at Michelob Ultra Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. According to Philippines News Agency, the 26-year-old Martin dictated the pace early, using his jab and footwork that disrupted the Mexican’s rhythm. In round 6, Martin, currently the World Boxing Organization No. 2 junior featherweight, landed a big counter right hook that sent Portillo to the canvas. Manila: The Board of Investments (BOI) expects approximately PHP1.12 trillion worth of new investment projects to register during the second semester of the year.
