Manila: The National Amnesty Commission (NAC) has announced the receipt of a total of 2,424 amnesty applications. According to Philippines News Agency, the latest NAC tally shows that 1,546 of these applications have been submitted by former members of the Communist Party of the Philippines-New People’s Army-National Democratic Front (CPP-NPA-NDF). Additionally, 63 applications were received from the Rebolusyonaryong Partido ng Manggagawa-Pilipinas/Revolutionary Proletarian Army Alex Boncayao Brigade (RPM-P/RPA/ABB). Butuan City: Authorities seized 400 grams of shabu valued at PHP2.7 million in a buy-bust on Saturday afternoon in Purok 4, Barangay Holy Redeemer here. According to Philippines News Agency, the Butuan City Police Office (BCPO) identified the arrested suspects as alias Sanse, 31, from Marawi City; alias Ram, 41, a security guard from this city; and alias Letty, 40, from Occidental Mindoro. The police noted that the three suspects are included in the list of high-value targets in the illegal drug trade. Quezon City: Intensified police operations from March 2 to 8 resulted in the arrest of 251 persons facing various offenses in Quezon City. According to Philippines News Agency, in a news release on Sunday, Quezon City Police District (QCPD) Acting Director Col. Melecio Buslig Jr. stated that those arrested include 89 wanted persons, 91 illegal gamblers, 62 drug suspects, and nine individuals for possession of illegal firearms.
