DOE Engages OECD-NEA Expertise for Philippine Nuclear Energy Program

Taguig City: The Department of Energy (DOE) has engaged the expertise of the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development – Nuclear Energy Agency (OECD-NEA) to support its objectives under the Philippine Nuclear Energy Program. According to Philippines News Agency, DOE Secretary Raphael Lotilla and OECD-NEA Director General William Magwood IV convened in Taguig City on February 24 to discuss advancements in the nation’s nuclear energy sector. The DOE emphasized that the OECD-NEA’s expertise will be crucial as the government strives to incorporate nuclear power into the country’s energy mix, targeting the introduction of 1,200 megawatts from nuclear technologies by 2032.
