Manila: The trough of Severe Tropical Storm Kristine (international name Trami) still affects parts of Luzon even though it is already outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR), the weather bureau said Saturday. In its 4 a.m. bulletin, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said Kristine’s trough will bring cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms over Occidental Mindoro and Palawan. Kristine was last spotted at 3 a.m. 630 km. west of Bacnotan, La Union, packing maximum sustained winds of 95 kph near the center and gustiness of up to 115 kph, moving westward at 20 kph.

Manila: The Philippines has addressed all the 18 strategic deficiencies identified by the Paris-based financing watchdog Financial Action Task Force (FATF) and could exit the ‘grey list’ by 2025. Manila: A total of 9,005 personnel and 2,048 units of heavy equipment, through its Quick Response Assets, have been deployed to areas affected by Severe Tropical Storm Kristine, the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) reported Saturday. In a statement, the DPWH said the resources have been strategically positioned to expedite debris clearing and road repairs to reopen critical transport routes as quickly as possible.
