ASEAN 2025: Bernama Appointed Official Media, International Media Centre Coordinator, RTM Official Broadcaster

KUALA LUMPUR, The Malaysian National News Agency (Bernama) has been appointed as the official media and coordinator of the International Media Centre for the 2025 ASEAN Summit, announced Communications Minister Fahmi Fadzil. Through a post on Facebook, Fahmi said Radio Television Malaysia (RTM) was appointed as the official broadcaster. “As ASEAN Chairman, Malaysia will definitely be the focus of the region in particular and the world in general. “God willing, the chairmanship this time will also open various great economic opportunities for the people,” he said. MetMalaysia Warns Of Thunderstorms, Heavy Rain In Sabah, Labuan And Sarawak

KUALA LUMPUR, The Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) has issued a warning of thunderstorms and heavy rain in a number of states until 3am (Oct 17). MetMalaysia in a statement issued at 10pm informed that thunderstorms are forecast in Sarawak, affecting Sri Aman, Betong, Sarikei, Sibu (Sibu and Kanowit), Kapit (Song), Miri (Marudi) and Limbang. Similar conditions are forecast in Labuan and Sabah and the affected areas include the interior areas (Sipitang, Tenom, Nabawan, Keningau and Tambunan) as well as Sandakan (Tongod and Sandakan). ASA 2024: 1,860 Entries From Local Creative Industry, Broadcasting Practitioners – Fahmi Fadzil

KUALA LUMPUR, The Anugerah Seri Angkasa (ASA) 2024 has received a total of 1,860 entries from local creative industry and broadcasting practitioners, marking a 17 per cent increase compared to 1,585 nominations in ASA 2022, said Communications Minister Fahmi Fadzil. He noted that the participation in three media comprised 1,287 for television, 515 for radio, and 58 in new media. ‘ASA 2024 is contested in 60 categories, with 40 for television, 16 for radio and four in new media categories. ‘For the first time, ASA 2024 will also introduce a new category under new media for Best Podcast,’ he said
