The introduction of body-worn cameras (BWC) among officers of the Customs Department (JKDM) has resulted in a significant 38.46 per cent reduction in misconduct, corruption and abuse of power cases, with only eight incidents recorded between Aug 1, 2023 and July 31 last year. A woman died from smoke inhalation while two others were injured in a blaze at an apartment in Palm Spring Condo, Damansara, here today. A senior police officer with the rank of ASP and six police officers, including a woman, were arrested yesterday to assist investigations into an alleged molest and extortion case involving a woman at a condominium unit in Cheras on Oct 1.
