KUALA LUMPUR, The Perlis Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) arrested three individuals, including a delivery company owner, on suspicion of soliciting a RM15,000 bribe from a cosmetics company owner. This bribe was purportedly an incentive to reduce the import tax on beauty products. The three men, aged 30 to 50, have been remanded for four days, until Oct 12, after the MACC made an application at the Kangar Magistrate’s Court, this morning. TASEK GELUGOR, The Penang State Government allocated close to RM13 million this year for payment of various allowances to the appointed Village Community Management Council (MPKK) members in the state. Penang Deputy Chief Minister I, Datuk Dr Mohamad Abdul Hamid said the amount includes the Chairman’s Fixed Allowance (RM700), RM600 for the Secretary’s Fixed Allowance, and RM300 for the Treasurer’s Fixed Allowance. SHAH ALAM, A local teenager, who went missing while swimming at Pulau Carey, Telok Panglima Garang, yesterday, was found drowned today. Kuala Langat district police chief Supt Ahmad Ridhwan Mohd Nor said that the body of the 17-year-old victim was discovered at 3.15 am, not far from the location where he was reported missing.
